Industrial Revolution is upon us

Updated: Aug 25, 2019

The Fourth Industrial Revolution is upon us, now is the time to prepare the next generation for the future. According to a report by The Committee for Economic Development of Australia, “Technology could make almost 40% of Australian jobs, including high skilled roles, redundant in 10-15 years” and “65% of children entering primary school today will work in completely new job types that don’t yet exist.” There is an urgent need to address the impact of new technologies on the future of work through changes in the education system. AI will soon replace many tasks done by humans. How can Australia lead the way for this future? We must make sure Australia’s education system is setting up students for success by changing the approach to how they learn. We need to enable children to develop their unique human capabilities - skills which technology and AI can’t replace. We must make sure our education system teaches in a way which helps students develop their creativity, curiosity, collaboration, empathy, problem solving and critical thinking. The way to do so is by incorporating Human Centred Design (HCD) in school’s approach and ways of teaching. #education #hcdforkids #innovation #humancentreddesign #creativity #hcd #designthinking #futurism #futureofeducation #futureoflearning #school #glitteringminds #entrepreneurship #makeanimpact #futuredesigners #teacher #primaryschool
