Are creative people happier?

Updated: Oct 17, 2020

Are creative people happier?

I find being creative to be fun and rewarding. The process of coming up with ideas and creating something new provides me with a great sense of achievement and satisfaction.

It turns out, that being creative is doing much more than that to our health and happiness.

When we are working on something that requires our creative-thinking, our hear rate slows, our worries disappear, and our brain is flooding our body with the feel-good hormone – dopamine.

A creative task also helps with focusing our very busy minds. (On average we have about 60,000 thoughts each day!!!!) Being creative calms our mind, much like doing a meditation. Getting creative is not only a fun thing to so, it actually boosts our mood, relaxes us, frees us from our worries and has an overall positive impact on our mental and physical health.

So grab a pen and start doodling, play a musical instrument, dance and sing, or think of many ideas to solve a problem. However you decide to express your creativity, its time to do it and feel better and happier.
